This a baby who was burned when a burning curtain landed on her face at 2 days old. We took care of in Afghanistan. Initally abandoned by her parents, she found love, care and compassion among her many “adoptive” US military family. Her family soon came around as well. In the US military hospital, she blossomed under advance medical technology that never would have been provided under Taliban rule. Last I heard, she is doing well and is seen in the US periodically for further treatment. Sometimes out of what people think is all bad, good things do happen.
