After a certain period of time.. say 2-4 hours of usage, my laptop goes berserk, in the sense that when any application or folder is clicked upon, the window related to that folder opens up but blank. Also the applications in the dialogue box below arent accessible. My initial diagnose was that the laptop must be overheating to cause that problem, I then employed a Zalman notebook cooler hoping that this would solve the problem; however i can say that i could extend my usage for atleast an hour extra. Even trying to shutdown the system through the start menu becomes a problem as the window doesnt open up (as is in the case of vista) . Is anyone else facing a similar problem? Does anyone have a solution to this or should i report it to the dealer as a faulty unit??
Regards.

Sounds like you have a virus… named Vista.
Seriously, you do have something odd going on, and it’s probably not RAM or video problems. That COULD leave overheating, but that usually results in system hangs and/or reboots.
It’s likely a software problem, perhaps a software conflict or a poor Windows update being released.
Afraid I can’t help you much without seeing the computer itself. I’d report it to the manufacturer, but perhaps someone else here will have a good suggestion.
Its obviously a heat problem. return to the shop for service or a 1 to 1 exchange.
I recently bought a HP notebook as well and had a problem with it over heating. The vent at the side has no air movement. meaning the fan is not turning and expelling the hot air.
