Dont rely on statistics on this one… some people just purchase phones or other goods because of advertising.
Galaxy S has a better screen (Super AMOLED vs desire’s regular AMOLED but amoled itself is great) and a scratch resistant screen.
The video quality is better on the galaxy s although both can capture 1280×720 (720p) HD at 30 fps.
HTC Desire has Adobe Flash 10.1 (upgradable of course) so when viewing web pages all flash content is loaded (just as a typical computer) but galaxy s has Flash Lite 3 so only videos and small animated flash content can be loaded and at very slow speeds.
HTC Desire’s got LED Flash but its LED and not xenon so dont expect miracles.
finally, galaxy s got a TV-Out so you can plug it in tv’s to share vids and if you wanna have fun browsing web with big screen.
each got its own pros and cons… but im going for HTC Desire (or desire HD).
Both are equally potent and versatile.
