I really dont know how the music got so ruined…. So here’s my 4th tutorial, only explaining two spins. they are both essential for the EAGLES. the palm spin is one of the spins I diddnt figure out or create by myself. Its a difficult move at first, but dont rush it. lol, I never even thought about the wind factor. I’ve practiced in the backyard or in my apt. complex and wind was never a factor. My staff is a solid aluminum, it’s 5′ long and weighs 5 lbs which is a decent weight and I highly doubt it would blow away.
maybe if it was hollow then I could imagine problems but if it as hollow, I’d be afraid of breaking it every time I hit myself.
I’m curious about how heavy and long your staff is.
A problem I have with plastic (and even aluminum staffs) is that they are too light. When you throw them in the air (double handed air spin), the wind will blow them to the next city
The lighter the staff, the more muscle work you need to do to fight the air resistance.

about the one finger spin. I’d just like to add that it’s important to keep your finger near the center of balance. I wasted so much time trying too far away from the center which used too much torque and had the staff spinning way too fast for me to keep up with it.

I kinda think a pvc pipe or something else plastic would be better. I actually started out with a bean pole so I was even able to put plastic caps on either end, made the staff a bit heavier and was great practice.

I need help with the double behind figure 8. I think if you slowed it down one time I would get the pattern. But it’s hard to see where your staff is going, it looks like you keep the momentum but when I try it it feels like I’m reversing the momentum when i get to the other side. Help please
