Youtube Tutorial – How to Grow a Successful Channel

One of the main questions I get asked these days is “how can I get more views/comments/subscribers”. So, even though I had hoped to do something a little bit more elaborate for my 5000 subscriber special, since it kinda crept up on me and I didn’t really have the time, I thought I’d answer this question as best I could. This video covers a large number of tips and tricks that I consider to be fundamental in building a successful Youtube channel. Best of all, these are things that everybody can do! Honestly guys, if I can grow a successful channel, you can too… And hopefully these tips will help =) The video is divided into FOUR main parts: – Getting Started – Making Quality Videos – Marketing Your Channel – Maintaining Your Channel Follow me: Facebook – www.facebook.com Blogger – shaun-static.blogspot.com Tumblr – shaun-static.tumblr.com Donate: www.paypal.com

@777static777 How do you do that Checklist on the side of your channel?

  • 777static777 says:

@ThaBoss92795 generally a noise-cancelling mic will help. Also, you can actually buy mice that are designed to make almost no clicking noise. I personally use Fraps to record.

    Hope this helps man =)

Hey Static, I have a question, how do I keep the clicking noises of my mouse out of my videos? It’s really annoying. Also, what do you record gameplay with? Maybe I missed it in the video. Btw check out my channel guys ThaBoss92795 I do tutorials and just started doing gameplay.

@FMDLSibs Well keep in mind that the amount of views you should expect changes with your channel size – I used to only get 100 views a video, tops. Then 1000. Now around 10,000.

However, if you’re getting MANY fewer views than you’re expecting, you either need to market better or boost the quality of your videos somehow.

    Hope this helps man =)

  • FMDLSibs says:

Static, if I’m not getting views; do I need to market better or do I just have to wait?

  • 777static777 says:

@ThaBoss92795 Just by typing it in. The tick is actually the square-root sign and I just throw that in there whenever I reach a milestone =)

  • 777static777 says:

    @TempestGamingVids thanks man =D

  • FMDLSibs says:

@777static777 Yea. It’s a bit of both marketing and channel size. Four subs aren’t exactly a lot of views but with my video quality I should be expecting more.

  • Jumbopetpet says:

I bet someone has watched this video and been disappointed that they are unadvised to make knitting videos.lol

  • 777static777 says:

@FMDLSibs Well, at four subs the emphasis is definitely on marketing. People like myself and Docm get a lot of views almost the moment we upload a video simply because of our subscriber base. A certain number of those subs ‘like’ or videos, which advertises it to their friends. So, basically, we don’t really need to advertise if we don’t want to.

However, as a smaller channel, you don’t get those initial views or the ‘free’ advertising, so you need to do the leg-work and whore your videos =p
