How To Use Copic Markers On A Stamped Image By Crissy Armstrong

In this video, I show you how I color the stamped image I illustrated using Copic markers. Copic markers are a professional quality marker that are alcohol based. Here I demonstrate how I render caucasian skin tones, white hair and a red tones on a Santa hat. To see the cards I make with my stamped images, visit my blog at www.crissysartnheart.blogspot.com Thanks for looking today! God bless!

I like Manga Drawing Pad by Canson. Its good thick heavy cardstock and it is best for Copic beginners because it is very forgiving. It is also very absorbent, and so it tends to suck more ink out of the markers. I also love Pure Luxury by Gina K. It isn’t as forgiving and not as absorbent, but it is pure white so the colors stay more true. It can be a bit trickier to use so I don’t recommend it for beginners. You have to find what you like though, so try a few brands out.

What kind of paper works good? I’m new at this, and I’m not sure what to buy.

Thanks! Copics are a professional marker, designed for artists who draw for Anime and Manga style cartooning. So they are pricey! Re. where to buy them, if you’re in the States, I think Dick Blick’s has the lowest prices I have found. But I am in Canada and so I shop up here. Not many stores carry them, so I go online and get them at Scrappin’ Great Deals. Or Curry’s Art Supplies. You can Google any of those sites for the web stores. Prices vary, but like I said, they don’t come cheap!
