They’re afraid to tell you the truth: trimming a baby’s nails is a huge pain in the cuticles. In this episode of Gear Daddy, Daddy Troy reviews two types of fingernail clippers that are perfect to use on infants to keep them from scratching their little faces. One clipper features a magnifying glass while the other has a led light that can be used to see the little fingernails on a newborn baby. This is one of the baby products which you will certainly need and it makes a great gift for parents. dadlabs ep 452 brought to you by Baby Bjorn. Distributed by Tubemogul.
to sum it up… Troy… I think you actually missed the ball a bit for once.
for really new babies, it’s better just to use a nail file (got this info from the docs…. their nails are more bonded to the skin still at that age, so it’s better.
Now, when you do clip, it’s better to use one with nice big grips. I have tried the first years one
don’t clip until the nails are good and hard.
I’ve tried the first years one (didn’t buy it for the maginfying glass)… The best bet for me was buying the 99 cent clippers at BRU along with a set of small emery boards there.
A little late on this one, I just clipped our babies nails too close and he bled.
I’ll look into these.
